Youth Aikido Class:

Open to students aged 6-15, this class covers defensive techniques, safe falling and other skills necessary to practice Aikido.

I our Youth Program students are taught traditional Aikido techniques adjusted for their maturity level. Among the traditional aspects of our curriculum are:

  • Posture & Breathing
  • Warm-up Exercises
  • Body Movement and Coordination Exercises
  • Tumbling and Safe Falling Skills
  • Strikes (for use in practicing defensive techniques)
  • Basic Self-Defense Techniques

Additionally, the ideals of the Samurai are woven into class discussions and practice as part of each student's understanding of Aikido. These ideals include: Service To the Community, Honesty and Integrity, Fairness, and Compassion for others.

Students over 15 are encouragd to participate in the adult Introductory and Basic programs.
